Orange Tree Samples Evolution Rick 12 Overview

Orange Tree Samples Evolution Rick 12 is a detailed Kontakt library that recreates the distinctive chime, shimmer, and expressive character of a vintage 12-string electric guitar. Based on a semi-hollow maple-body guitar with a rosewood fretboard and high-gain pickups, the instrument delivers the classic 12-string sound associated with rock, pop, folk, indie, and cinematic music.

Developed in collaboration with Rosewood Recording Company, Evolution Rick 12 provides two signal options for flexible tone shaping. The pristine direct signal preserves the natural character of the guitar, while the enhanced signal adds analog processing for fuller sustain and additional depth.

The recordings were engineered by Guy Randle and performed by session guitarist Michael Dowdle. As a result, the library combines professional studio production with expressive guitar performances that work naturally in a wide range of arrangements.

Moreover, the instrument provides advanced performance controls designed to make MIDI guitar parts feel more natural. Quadruple multitracking lets you layer up to four guitar tracks, while adjustable pick position provides additional control over attack and tone.

The library also includes expressive vibrato styles, powerful articulation mapping, a strumming engine with a pattern editor, and a built-in guitar effects suite. Therefore, you can create detailed rhythm parts, shimmering chord progressions, expressive guitar lines, and layered 12-string performances from within the instrument.
